Alighiero Boetti Symposium

The event aims to explore how Alighiero Boetti's artistic heritage illuminates the present, in particular inviting the voices of contemporary artists who's practices have been influenced by Alighiero Boetti's work.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition Tutto Boetti 1966–1993, Magazzino Italian Art is pleased to present a symposium dedicated to the artistic legacy of Alighiero Boetti. Conceived in collaboration with Fondazione Alighiero e Boetti as a moment of reflection and exchange, the event will bring together artists, curators, and scholars to consider the enduring relevance of Boetti’s work and its resonance within contemporary artistic practices.

Rather than approaching Boetti solely through a historical lens, the symposium foregrounds his continued influence today, inviting contemporary voices whose work engages—directly or indirectly—with his conceptual strategies, systems of collaboration, and exploration of authorship, language, and order. Through a series of presentations and conversations, the program will examine how Boetti’s ideas continue to generate new interpretations and artistic responses.

Participants will include Massimiliano Gioni, Francesco Clemente, Paola Pivi, Ilaria Bernardi, Stefano Arienti, and Giordano Boetti, among others, offering a range of perspectives that bridge generations and disciplines.
