This series will overview the Olnick Spanu glass collection. Starting with a presentation of Murano Glass: Olnick Spanu Collection, a film by Anton Giulio and Siretta Onofri. The film overviews the Murano glass tradition with footage of glass production in the storied factories of Venice and interviews with Nancy Olnick, Giorgio Spanu, and Ferruccio Franzoia, who collaborated with Carlo Scarpa. This screening will be accompanied by images of rare works in the Olnick Spanu collection and a Q&A on Instagram Live with Magazzino Italian Art Co-founders Nancy Olnick and Giorgio Spanu and Co-directors of Glass Past New York Sara Blumberg and Jim Oliveira.

About Sara Blumber and Jim Oliveira
Sara Blumberg and Jim Oliveira founded Glass Past in New York in 1995. They are private dealers and consultants in the field of Italian glass, specializing in works from 1870 to 1970, and are among the most respected experts in the field. Sara and Jim primarily serve private collectors and travel extensively to find the most important and interesting examples from their original years of production. As consultants and curators, they have produced numerous Important Italian Glass auctions for Wright which have led to record breaking results in this rarefied field. In 2018, Jim was made a Fellow at the Corning Museum of Glass and he is currently writing a book about the history of glass and the connection between America and Italy in the formation of the Italian glass market.
