Marinella Senatore and The School of Narrative Dance, Cold Spring (November 2019)
In the fall of 2019, Magazzino Italian Art Foundation presented a new project with Italian multidisciplinary artist Marinella Senatore, curated by the Moody Center for the Arts’ Associate Curator Ylinka Barotto. The project culminated in a large-scale public performance in Cold Spring, NY, on November 16, 2019, from 12:30 -3:00 p.m.
Channeling the powerful energy of collaboration, we will launch this series with unpublished documentation of Marinella Senatore and The School of Narrative Dance, Cold Spring. Made possible through joint efforts of Cold Spring residents, this project exemplifies Magazzino’s commitment to provide a platform for people and creativity across generations, cultures, and passions. We will be presenting new video documentation of Marinella Senatore’s processional performance in Cold Spring, NY and presentation of a live Q+A on Instagram with the artist and curator Ylinka Barotto.

Magazzino Italian Art and artist Marinella Senatore will collaborate this fall to launch Cold Spring Soundtrack. Initiated through an open call starting on September 9, 2020, volunteers from the Hudson Valley region and beyond are invited to share short sound recordings of anything that feels reflective of their current moment. Participants can call and leave a voicemail or text their sound recording to +1 (845) 476-8409 or email their sound recording to opencall@magazzino.art through November 7, 2020.
Magazzino Italian Art and artist Marinella Senatore collaborated this fall to launch Cold Spring Soundtrack. Initiated through an open call starting on September 9, 2020, Senatore invited volunteers to share short sound recordings of any moment that feels reflective of their current one. At the end of the period of open submissions, Senatore and composer Emiliano Branda composed an original score that interweaves every contribution received, creating a symphonic soundscape made up of individual voices.

Magazzino Italian Art Foundation is currently looking for non-professional dance enthusiasts from the Middle and Lower Hudson Valley to participate in the Marinella Senatore and The School of Narrative Dance Performance on November 16, 2019.
