Available to a Philipstown school junior or senior with a strong interest in visual art or museum management, the scholarship consists of an award and an internship at Magazzino.

Magazzino Italian Art Foundation today announced the opening of its new Research Center and the appointment of Francesco Guzzetti, its first Scholar-in-Residence. Advancing Magazzino’s mission to promote the study and appreciation of Italian Postwar and Contemporary art, the Research Center will create new opportunities for scholarly research and critical assessment.

The award, which honors those who have made outstanding contributions within the Putnam County community, was presented at the annual Putnam History Museum Gala held at the Highlands Country Club in Garrison, New York on Saturday, October 13, 2018.

Cav. Giorgio Spanu was awarded the Insignia of Knight of the Italian Republic by the Ambassador of Italy to the United States of America, His Excellency Armando Varricchio. The ceremony took place on board the Italian Frigate Alpino, moored at Pier 88 in New York City, during the celebration and anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Italy on June 2, 2018.
