Greg Slick

Chief Docent

Greg Slick is an artist and independent curator based in Beacon and Newburgh, NY. He brings a wide range of museum and gallery experience to Magazzino. From 2006 to 2009 he was the co-owner/director of Go North: A Space for Contemporary Art in Beacon, NY. Greg has curated exhibitions for The Dorsky Museum and the Garrison Art Center. He served on the Board of Directors of the Garrison Art Center as Vice President and as Chair of the Exhibitions Committee. In addition, Greg has over 30 years of marketing and communications experience. He worked as a writer on global campaigns for a number of advertising agencies, including Omnicom Group, Foote, Cone & Belding, and Bates Advertising USA, with extensive print, video, and digital experience.

Greg has exhibited his art at SUNY Ulster, Stone Ridge, NY; the Dorsky Museum at SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY; the Rochester Contemporary Art Center, Rochester, NY; the Seligmann Center, Sugar Loaf, NY; and the Estonian Artists Association, Tallinn, Estonia. His artwork has appeared in The New York Times and Chronogram, and was included in UNI-VERSE Poetry-Prints-Proofs by Visionary Humans, Battery Journal Publishing. He is the founder of the artists’ collective The International Society of Antiquaries.

Greg’s role as Chief Docent encompasses several aspects of museum education. He provides guided tours of our exhibitions and is responsible for the development and implementation of the docent training program. Greg is also a social media presenter who regularly spotlights the art and artists at Magazzino.
