Giulia Spissu is the Digital Marketing Assistant at Magazzino Italian Art. Born in Florence, Italy, Giulia Spissu studied at Università degli Studi di Firenze (BA in Art History) and at Alma Mater Studiorum, Università di Bologna (MA in Visual Arts) with a final dissertation in Phenomenology of Contemporary Art, Cy Twombly in Italia. In 2018, she attended two extra-curricular courses at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York in order to refine her formation.
Giulia has previously worked as a Gallery and Curator Assistant in galleries and independent spaces between Florence, Prato and Bologna and as a Social Media and Digital Content Manager at Museo Novecento in Florence, Italy.
During the pandemic, Giulia founded the Instagram page @theartranslator with the aim of educating a wider audience on contemporary art and interviewing young and emerging artists active in the Tuscan area. From the digital world, she translated her project into a book, The Art Translator. L’arte contemporanea e il suo eclettico mondo (The Art Translator. Contemporary art and its eclectic world), published in July 2022 with Edifir Edizioni Firenze and the support of Fondazione CR Firenze.
