Bernadetto Tomaino-Barrett is the Visitor Services Coordinator at Magazzino Italian Art. They graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA in Classical Civilizations. While studying in Scotland, they were able to take a research trip to Italy for three weeks to investigate the influence of Greek colonization on Roman architecture. This aided them in their study of the Italian language, which they wish to enhance further at Magazzino.

Bernadetto is a Garrison native and has participated in several local institutions. Growing up, they were closely involved with the Depot Theatre in Garrison and even worked with the Hudson Valley Shakespeare festival a couple of years ago.

Magazzino is the best work home for them, teaching them about Arte Povera, which combines things they enjoy, including art and the political issues of post WWII Europe. It is quickly becoming a growing passion of theirs as it provides a new outlook on other contemporary art. They hope to make your experience enjoyable and inclusive and that you end up loving Arte Povera too!
