Alexandra Theodoropoulos is the Assistant Facilities Manager and Preparator at Magazzino Italian Art. She arrived at Magazzino after a freelance career assisting museums, galleries and theatre companies carry out their artistic missions, including the Neuberger Museum at SUNY Purchase, Hudson River Museum, Lehman College Art Gallery, Tyler Rollins Fine Art Gallery and traveling Shakespeare company Lawnchair Theatre. Alexandra began art handling while receiving her bachelors in Art History from SUNY Purchase. She has crewed a multitude of exhibitions as well as acted in plays throughout the years. From gallery installation and stage design to liaising with visiting artists, Alexandra thrives in a collaborative environment. One such event was managing the reconstruction of Coney Night Maze, a massive-scale sculpture disassembled from artist Donna Dennis’ Manhattan loft. With no blueprint for reconstruction, Alexandra and her crew tackled the rebuild of what began as bizarre puzzle pieces within the Neuberger Museum’s South gallery and ended a wondrous and provocative architectural sculpture. Alexandra believes in perpetual curiosity and generosity of spirit as she continues to explore a world of art and ideas.
